Razzamataz’s goal is to make the world a better, brighter, smarter, more equitable, and happier place through puppetry. We accomplish our mission through our community outreach programs and educational arts workshops.
The Razzamataz Puppetry Company creates and performs original works of dynamic modern puppetry incorporating stunning special effects and pyrotechnics.
Our shows deal with socially relevant issues in refreshing and creative ways. Razzamataz strives to produce puppet shows that are not only wildly entertaining but also strike chords of truth. Our shows are designed to target a wide spectrum of audiences ranging from children to adults.
Historically, the medium of puppetry has been used to comment on important social and political issues. The inherently humorous nature of our puppetry allows Razzamataz to address volatile issues in a non-threatening way.
Part of Razzamataz’s mission is to not only entertain our audience, but to educate them by suspending their interpretation of reality and opening them to new ideas and experiences.
Razzamataz also organizes frequent community outreach programs and educational arts workshops.
These programs include the Sock Monkey Project, internship opportunities for at-risk teens, outdoor arts education camps, and workshops on diverse subjects including: puppet making, building homemade musical instruments, creating art out of recycled materials, and constructing personal shrines.
We are constantly developing creative new programs so contact us if you have any questions.
The Razzamataz Internship Program
Razzamataz provides internship opportunities for talented young people within the Razzamataz Puppet Company. These internships give creative young people an opportunity to be involved with the development, production and performance of Razzamataz’s theatrical puppet productions. This program provides students with an exciting hands-on learning experience, and allows them to explore a multi-media art-form that integrates the visual and performing arts.
We are currently accepting applications for the Razzamataz Internship Program 2011.
