8/29/2006 Update: One Year after Hurricane Katrina

AD ASTRA PER ASPERA

RAZZAMATAZ IS UP AND RUNNING!

What a year, where to begin? It’s been a wild, wicked ride. Razzamataz was completely destroyed when the New Orleans levees broke following Hurricane Katrina. My home and production studio were inundated with floodwater and everything was totally ruined.
All of the puppets and props were annihilated, and all of my equipment was pulverized. My house became uninhabitable. Everything I owned turned into rotten sludge. My job with the Talented Art program in New Orleans Public Schools vanished in the blink of an eye when the district fired all teachers. My 1969 Ford Fairlane was destroyed. And my cat, snake and fish all went MIA.

MY

We relocated to Colorado Springs, where we received massive support from the local community and several generous grants and donations from private individuals, organizations, and businesses across the nation. The lemons all turned into lemonaide. We even found the cat, which is a whole crazy story in and of itself (I'm pretty sure that he ate the snake).

Stay tuned, because the story of Galaxy the Cat and his Katrina Adventures in currently in development.

We are now in the process of rebuilding Razzamataz Productions on a bigger scale, with all new puppets, bigger pyrotechnics, and more spectacular feats of mind-blowing, puppetry magic. But we still need funding, sponsors, and donations to enable us to finish the rebuilding process and implement some exciting new programs. Your donation can make a huge difference. Contact us if you want to help in any way.

04/01/2006 Update: The Mystical Medicine Show

The debut of our first post-Katrina all-new performance…

“Dr Razzamataz the Stupendous and His Mystical Medicine Show”

…on April Fools Day at the Smokebrush Gallery in Colorado Springs, was a huge success and would not have been possible without the support and generosity of our families and patrons. Once again, thank you all for generosity and support.

Thanks,

Dr. Razzamtaz
